John Boraston – Business Development Manager

John has lived in Melbourne for the past few years after a short stint in Sydney, Australia.  John hails from Northland, New Zealand home of the Mighty Taniwha. John began his rugby career at the age of 5 playing for Tikipunga RUFC in Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand.  John attended Whangarei Boys High School and played his rugby at Old Boys RUFC.

After High School John attended Auckland University of Technology studying design before pursuing a career in Australia.

John is interested in the growing opportunities available for aspiring rugby players, coaches, referees and those looking to enter the player performance industry. Using Rugby U to create a gateway for rugby community opportunities.

Kiel Brodie – Business Development Manager

Kiel has lived in the global sporting metropolis of Melbourne, Australia for the last 10 years. Rugby is Kiel’s passion and he has participated and spectated since the age of 7. Kiel began his playing career as a junior with Havelock North RUFC in Hawkes Bay New Zealand before moving to Tasman, New Zealand and joining the Waimea Old Boys RUFC.  Kiel attended Waimea College where he played 1st XV.

After leaving school Kiel attended New Zealand Institute of Sport and studied Exercise Prescription and Event Management before studying Marketing Management at the University of Otago.

Like every young kiwi Kiel aspired to be an All Black or at least to get paid to play rugby.  That dream was never realised.  Kiel is keen to ensure that the worlds next tier players, coaches and referees don’t miss out on an opportunity to make Rugby a career.
